LOST 20th Anniversary Legacyquel Draft & Pitch: LOST & Lit Podcast
We [Probably Shouldn't] Have To Go Back [But If We Did It Might Look Like This]!
Hi folks! It has yet again been a while since I’ve posted on Serially Engaged; I promise to get back to coverage soon (I owe you a Quantum Leap (2022) post-mortem). For now, I wanted to share another episode of Media/Lit, this time all about the best show of all time, LOST!
Back in April, I was so pleased to have participated in an episode of the Media/Lit Pod to discuss an early, formative episode of LOST (1x05 - White Rabbit). As I said then:
As many of you know, LOST is my urtext, the cornerstone of the TV Canon of my life. LOST inspired my love of TV/criticism and informed my academic interests. LOST brought me community and connection in the Dark Times (the pandemic), and helped motivate me to finish my thesis. Without LOST, Serially Engaged would not exist. And so It was an absolute delight to chat with the Hosts of Media/Lit, Randy Alain & Kris Ingersoll, about a text that has meant so much to so many.
As you can see from the logo above, Media/Lit has turned discussions about LOST into its own sub-series: LOST & Lit! And so, I am once again delighted to share with you all, on this, the 16th (A LOST NUMBER) of September, the first of two episodes celebrating the legacy of LOST ahead of its 20th Anniversary. Six of us got together to Draft Characters (Part 1, below) ahead of a Totally (un)Necessary LOST Legacyquel Pitch Party (Part 2, coming next Monday, the 23rd, ANOTHER LOST NUMBER).
Please join us for what I think was a riotous and creative fun time, all about LOST:
Finally, please subscribe to Media/Lit! In the words of Randy Alain, Host of Media/Lit:
This podcast examines the various forms of media that shape our lives: the stories we love, the music that moves us, and the art the inspires us. We meet with a variety of guests to explore a piece of media that shaped them in some way and explore that influence as if it were a piece of great literature. Whether we are dealing with the seemingly inane or the deeply profound, we will try to get to the center of how we define ourselves and our values. It's a course in media literacy that puts hearts and minds ahead of the nuts and bolts of the industry.
